Foxit Reader can let you open and annotate PDFs. The application has a nice clean interface. Those users with previous experience with Adobe Reader will probably find no difficulty to use this application as there are no significant differences when it comes to usage.
Foxit Reader can render PDF documents correctly, even when other similar applications may fail to do so. It also allows you to take snapshots of a given region or copy the selected text. Moreover, you can use the numerous markup tools available, such as shapes, arrows, freehand, notes and strikeout to make the desired annotations.
The application also includes some other functions, such as reading aloud a text and sharing a document on Facebook and Twitter. In addition, it can connect to the Right Management System to check a given’s document signatures. However, it does not let you create your own digital signature.
Although Foxit Reader is faster, has a small installation package, consumes less memory and occupies less disk space than Adobe Reader, there are some functions available from Adobe that are not presented in this application. My advice is to check whether you really need those missing functions; if you do not, then, Foxit Reader can be a great option for you.
Pros
- It is fast
- It uses less memory and disk space than other similar applications
- It has a clean easy-to-use interface
- It allows marking up documents
- It allows sharing documents on social networks
Cons
- It does not support some of the functions that are included in Adobe Reader
I have used the 9.0 version before, and I loved it, because it had the "scan" feature. I thought allowing the program to update will have better features, and skins, but no! All the latest updates don't have that scan feature anymore! so pathetic! I highly recommend this version of this fantastic software :D
So convenient to use.
I used it before on my windows 7 laptop and it was working perfectly. But now on my new one, which is windows 10, the highlight is not working! The important feature for students!
