Foxit Reader can help you visualize various types of portable document formats. Thus, besides the common PDF, it also supports such formats as FDF, XFDF, XDP and PPDF, which means you can use it not only to view standard document files but also to fill in forms.

The application has a nice modern interface with tabs and ribbons. Therefore, if you are already familiar with the latest Office versions, you will have no trouble using this program. Moreover, if you don’t like the program’s out-of-the-box look, you can use any of the available skins.

This reader has a huge list of features. For instance, it lets you find your way in a document easily by allowing bookmarking. Also for this purpose, it has a powerful customizable search. Another viewing-related characteristic is that it can manage layers, letting you decide which ones to hide or show. In addition, it has several marking and commenting features, like adding attachments, comments, etc. In relation to document protection, Foxit Reader supports managing password-protected documents as well as using digital signatures, digital IDs, time stamps and trusted certificates.

Fortunately, it lets you create PDFs in various ways. Regarding this, you can convert various types of files, mainly Office ones, webpages, texts and pictures, into PDF format. Other ways to form documents are using a scanner or copying from the clipboard, and of course, it lets you make a new file from scratch.

In general, Foxit Reader is a very complete software solution for managing PDFs. It is good to know that it supports adding more plugins, along with those coming with the standard installer, including speech synthesis, sharing options and cloud storage. Likewise, it allows entering instructions from the command line, which helps integration with other programs. In my opinion, this application is better than Adobe Reader, which is probably the most used program of its kind, although it is not as powerful as Adobe Acrobat.
