In general, Foxit Reader is one of the most complete applications related to viewing and editing portable documents. It has the main advantage of being lighter and less expensive than Acrobat Reader. However, I should tell you that, before you decide to buy this application, you should also consider that there are free programs to view PDF documents. Moreover, Microsoft Word supports saving documents in PDF format, with the advantage of being much easier to use.
